Church
Musician

In his role as a church music director, Michael strives to build programs that emphasize intellectually, theologically, and musically rich and rigorous programming through enthusiastic recruitment, retention, training, and encouragement of volunteers, robust support of staff musicians, and a commitment to the highest standards of performance. Of central importance to Michael's work is congregational song fostered through supportive organ accompaniment, judicious selection of repertoire, and choral training that supports the congregation in its praises. In liturgical planning, Michael programs music that draws from and reinforces the sacred texts of the day and points to the unified and singular character of corporate Christian worship in a fashion that is described in the weekly Music Ministry article at Blessed Sacrament, an example of which can be found here.
